bellevue, ne
i just recently got four convicts all about 1"-2"
2 of them had bright pink bellies and 2 had no pink
after being in the tank for about two weeks they had semi paired up but it was the two with out pink that get along and the two with pink bellies get along
they also havent really staked out a territory to keep.
ive had to move the two with pink bellies to another tank because they were being harrased so much.

any thoughts

Harassment could also be a sign of courting and Pairing.. I would have taken one of the no colored bellies out and seen what happened.. Do you have Close up pics of these fish?? This would make things a little more clearer. Thanks..

Since you mentioned pink (or orange) on their bellies, those are your females. Separate each one with one of the others (males) and you will be good to go. In three to five days you should have eggs.

do what chompers said
thats what i would do
