This guy was in like a 20 gallon tank with 5 other oscars and they all just seemed depressed. All I could house is one so I grabbed this guy. At first he was only to help pellet train my bass but he outgrew them and had to be moved. I was planning on giving him away after he did his job but I've grown to like the guy. He's in an empty 50 gallon by himself 36X18X18. All painted black back and bottom and I got to say he's an awesome fish. Was skittish and wierd at first but now he is literally like a dog I guess. Begs and leaps out of the water for food and literally has so much personality it's crazy. I decided to keep him for now. Just wanted to share :)

Hes perfectly fine alone lol. I know its not the perfect tank size but it beats dying at country max or someones 20 gallon filthy aquarium. My water quality is pristine and with 18'' depth I think hell be good for a while haha. Hes probably 7-8 inches or so by now.

Keep him, it was meant to be. Good job!

yeah, and btw, he looks very healthy as u have mentioned. so, yeah, just continue taking care of him. :) but he is still growing and sure will need a bigger tank. hahah, good luck with him.

Never know, maybe all those years in crappy conditions might have stunted its growth. Time will tell.
