IN YOUR HEAD
the other day i took out one of my cockatails that i have been tring to get to not want to kill me...it was sitting on my hand then just flew directly into my fishtanks stand...not the tank, but the solid stand at full speed:screwy:...it was knocked out and took 15min to come back...it then sat around not doing much for the folowing 2 days and then died...

i have had birds crash into windows but not into a wall or something that was not see through...has anybody had birds do something like this? cause of all the years i have had birds none have crashed into a solid object...it is weird...

now my other bird that has always liked me hates me...it acts like i am tring to attack it and runs, hops and flys away when i try to touch it...i am looking into getting a male now as that one was a female that died and the one i have left is a female...i just don't know if it will accept a new mate as it has spent the last 3-4yrs with this other bird in this cage...does anyone have exp. with this?...should i add the new bird and the old bird into a new cage at the same time?

That stinks. I am sorry to hear that. I know that cockatiels can be spooked easily and have weak hearts but I always thought they had good eye site. Maybe you just had bad luck and got a nearly blind one or something. In any case it sucks that this happened...

dude, that does stink. i've had all kinds of wierd stuff happen with my animals but never have i ever had an animal kill itself like that. maybe he was trying to kill himself. i've heard about a cat that climbed like 70 feet in a tree and jumped. physco kitty....:screwy:

sorry to hear it. but i know guys when introducing new birds to existing ones they put the new bird in a separate cage beside the old one and let them get accustomed to each other first before contact.after a week or so when your there let them together and seperate again when your not there.do this for a few days and they should be ok.

i may try this...i know it didn't work for my ring necked doves...i tried that they instantly were in the octagon...they have been next to eachother for 14yrs+ and they still will try to beat the other down throw the cages from time to time...maybe they are just disguntaled old farts cause one is over 18yrs old and the other is in the mid to upper teens...
