I was always wondering why crested geckos are alot more popular than gargoyle geckos. There is both a 1/10 ratio for male to female and female to male, but the wierd thing is that for cresties the 1/10 ratio is in favor of the MALES. Therefor leading me to believe that only one male is inpregnating one female, whils the other 9 sit there with a bad feeling of rejection. As for Gargoyles i believe that the male can inpregniate 9 females (Because of the 1/10 ratio in favour of the females) and therefore having NINE TIMES MORE BABIES eACH CLUTCH!!! So what i am wondering is why are there alot more cresties then gargs, and if it is a possibilitie that some cool colour morphs of cresties got "whiped out" because of this (the male never mating and eventually that ype just dying out)

I thought the appeal behind the crestie's was that they were thought to be extinct 10 years ago.

Sorry, 15 years ago. They were considered extinct until someone found a colony in 1994.

but do any of you think that its possible for some colour morphs to die out because of the ratio?
