So my dad has a backyard pond where his goldfish live and get about 8-10 inches during the summer. It gets -40 here for at least 2 weeks every winter, so we bring the goldfish inside in about october. It's a 90 gallon tank, so during the winter it is admittedly overstocked. Along with this he has:
A single hillstream loach that hasn't died in over a year, so he's doin' something right
A zipper loach (looking for more!)
2 Peruvian black corys (the big shiny ones)
1 Corydoras pilates
1 Corydoras sterbai
2 Albino Bronze corys (both female)
about 8 regular bronze corys
about 10 Giant dannios
We've successfully kept paddletail newts in there, as well as crayfish and a Labeo species. A big old black shark.
What are some suggestions for some other fish that might do okay?
