I'm sure most of you know by know that a few weeks ago I went to a local river and caught a johnny darter and put it in a ten gallon tank with a juvanile Ameca splendas. Well last week I went to the same river with a freind and caught a two inch pumpkinseed sunfish and put it in the same tank as the darter and Ameca splendas. That was a bad idea but it was the only place I could put it. Well it was feeding well and stuff but after about three days (I think) the freakin' thing ate my Ameca splendas. This was fine with me except it was the last of about six of them that I got for forty dollars. Then we had to go to my cusin's house for the weekend and when I got back I found the thing with the darters tail stiking out of it's mouth:swear: and the darter was two inches long. So I just left the fish fo see if it would survive. Well today when I turned on the lights the back half of the darter was on the gravle and the pumpkinseed was fine. Sone the pumpkinseed will be in a 150g tank with some more pumpkins and plenty of live food. Sorry guys but I didn't gat pictures of it. Put I'll try to get some pictures of the pumpkinseed later.

Sunnies are aggressive feeders, lol.

I have a one inch blue gill and he ate all 8 of my 1 inch creek chubs! Those things are tuff.

Cool , I want to see pics ,Come on I showed you pics of my green sunfish.I dont know if we have pumkin seeds in texas but i sure will look for some.

Pumpkinseeds are very aggressive.

Yup, sunfish will do that. My longear sunfish killed two tesselated darters and ate my female orangethroat darter. If I had known in the first place that he killed the tesselated I would have removed them but they were also new to the tank so I thought they just died from stress or something. Anyway, all that's with him now are a rock bass and four tadpole madtoms and he leaves them alone.
