i have 15 3" indo datnoids in a 60 gallon along with a 5" jardini. the jardinis n dats get along. the other datnoids seem to be having a great time but this one dat is always in the corner leaning against the glass. the other dats are perfectly stable but the one in the corner is black. i tap the glass and he swims away into the plants but when i go out and come back home hes in the corner again black! btw he is one of the biggest ones in the tank and i feed them 3 times a day (bloodworms) so their not starving... i do 40% waterchanges every week so its not the water... WHAT COULD IT BE?

I'm no expert, but the LFS owner *doubt it, doubt it!* told me that dats do that naturally in the wild during the day to hide. Based on this logic, one might extrapolate that the biggest dat has claimed the hidey spot for himself and is doing what all the other dats would do if they had a spot to hide. But I'm no dat pro. I don't even like them. So that's just my guess. Based on what might be misinformation. Yeah. G/L with that.

it's unstable which means that it's not accustomed to its surroundings. at least not yet.

It could be the reason of the biggest dat in your tank. The jardini will put any fish on check if its equivalent size. I have 2 indo with a jar. One indo is 9inch and the other is 5inch. The five inch stays stable and the 9inch was stable untill the 18inch Jardini had put him on check. He is the biggest dat in my tank and somtimes gets chase around during feeding time.

The Dat is stressed, probably from people hammering on the glass all the time wondering why he's stressed.

Just because you do 40% water changes every week doesn't guarantee its not your water... Although I would think it would affect other fish if the water qualiity was bad.

Yeah, tapping on the glass doesn't really achieve anything.
