My Dats are finally off of feeders!!

Just wanted to share this milestone with all of the fellow dat keepers.I'm down to three indos now and the two bigger ones have been eating freeze dried krill almost exclusively but the small one(three inches) has resisted them so far.The other day I dropped in a piece of smelt and little tiger meets it halfway down and engulfs it.A few days later I cut up some raw shrimp that I have for other fish and try dropping in a few pieces of it into the tank and little tiger snaps up all that I put in,he even sucked up a piece that was on the bottom.This dat was eating only feeders a week ago and now he/she will get no more.

How long you been tryin to convert? My 8 inch Thinbar, i have had for 7 weeks now... it's eaten 3 frozen prawns and 3 lance fish ONLY. Thats it. I reckon by Christmas, he'll be eating daily.

Just goes to show, a well fed healthy tiger can go MANY weeks with none or very little food.
The last 8 inch Indo took 5 weeks (didnt eat anything) until it ate frozen prawn.

Very stubborn fish but I love em.I have been trying to convert this one since sometime in July.It is the most stable and outgoing of the trio but it would only go after feeders,even while the other two would snatch krill from the surface untill there was none left.

Congrats! Thats a very rewarding feeling. mine never had a problem with chopped shrimp and night crawlers, but I have only one of them on massivor

Thanks and yes it is.Hopefully the others will take to the raw shrimp as well.I will try the nightcrawlers.I can get them from my yard at an excellent price lol.
