Well good news, after a year and a have of keeping Discus I had two pair off and spawn today. Not sure the eggs will make it though, there are 6 more Discus, 2 clown loaches along with 3 rubberlip plecos, a farowella and an octocinis cat. Strange thing is they spent the day cleaning a piece of driftwood all day but then laid the eggs of the overflow boxes for the filter.

The neon blue/turquose mix is the female with the orange one being the male, not sure what type the male is beleive the LFS i got it from said it was a pigeon blood but looks to be a mix.

I am going to move the pair into a 20 gallon high in a couple weeks with a spounge filter and I'll have to get a breeding cone.

Any comments or suggestions on breeding and raising would be great. I do breed convicts but they are relatively easy.

Sorry about a the white spots in the pics(dirty glass). I cleaned the glass for the last pic and you can make out the eggs on the filter boxes.

Well as I expected the eggs are gone, I sure my clown loaches enjoyed them. I'll be setting up a tank to move the pair into. Does anyone know how soon they may lay eggs again?

They can spawn every 5-7 days...but if you move them into another tank, it may take a while longer as they need time to get themselves established in the tank. Could be next week....could be 6 months.

Wow I forgot all about this thread, Well for an update: this pair spawns about every 10 days and I have another pair that has spawned a couple times. I'm in the middle of doing a tank shuffle, but I hope to have the 2 breeding pairs into a divided 55 gallon within the next couple of weeks.

Once I get the new tanks set up I'll post new tread on my breeding discus.
