Yeah! after all my issues of the past, finally finally, have them all eating! though I have one stunted after it's long hunger strike & QT. The one or two others that had been not eating are doing fine now, bodies are fuller. The rest have been always eating, some growing very nicely, some just ok, some may be stunted (at least one will be).

latest issue is some kind of tail fin deterioration. so treating that for now.

at least got them all to eat. flakes are well accepted (blended my left over tetramin with 2 diff. ken's flakes), bought on sale from Dr.F's frozen brine, bloodworms & beefheart packs. so far so good!

thks all for those who helped me thru my ordeal these past few months!

howd u get the discus that werent eating to eat?

forum members told me I had parasites so started with prazipro, but another said I should use pure metro (www.jehmsco.com). I also QT 2 of the discus who showed severe signs of starvation - one died the other survive but now severely stunted - but eats like a pig & partakes in the chasing/be chased activity like normal.

the one other I think just responded to the general tank treatment. the rest were not affected with any hunger strikes.

so parasites apparently curbs their appetite dramatically.

hope this helps you.

Good to hear. If you are getting fin rot make sure you keep up with the water changes. If it gets worse quickly pull and treat with a good anti-biotic.

frequently feeding more frozen brine, bloodworms & beefheart (recently bought from Dr. F's great frozen food sale). so now I see some dramatic growth in quite a few of my once fledgling discus juvies!
