Love my python, beats 5 gallon buckets any day. However that cheap plastic pump sucks and breaks within a year. I decided to make one out of copper and brass which I wish Python would do. Here is a pic of what I made only thing is that the vacuum is not strong enough to pull water. I was thinking it may be do to the length but that is the shortest I could do with the fittings. So I have a funky paper weight. Any ideas on how to get this working?

The overall length of it shouldn't matter, I think your problem is that it doesn't have a narrow point that acts like a venturi to pull the water through the hose. If you look at the python you'll see a narrow point at the bottom and that's what you need to replicate.

Good point. Maybe I could sleeve the inside with some type of plastic tubing, just the lower part of it. I was thinking if the hose connecting side was closer up to the faucet adapter it would help but I couldn't achieve that with the fittings.
