My DIY Hel-x fluidized bed filter

Just set it up. I will be adding more media when these get seeded. This is my first time trying this so I'll keep updating the progress. Here's a video.

I can't tell you how much I like this new filter. I have been in the hobby for 25+ years and have had tanks as large as 750 gallons with every type of filtration out there and my water has never been this clear! It's so clear you can't tell the fish are swimming in water! My wife couldn't believe it either and she doesn't really pay much attention to the fish and tanks but said WOW! You can see in the video how cloudy the water is. Here is a picture from today. The pic does or no justice because of the glare and IPhone. I highly recommend this style of filter. Try it out , it's easy and pretty cheap to make.

Thanks and yeah I think it is. You can use any plastic type container/bottle.

Very Nice maybe you can try diffusing the air through a air stone.
