Hi All. I am Joe from NY, USA. I plan on keeping you guys up-to-date with my new DIY project. It is going to be an indoor 1500 gallon saltwater tank, measuring 120"x60"x48". I am going to build it as an extension onto a current standing wall in my refurnished basement. I am going to frame and paint the tank to look similar to my existing walls. The tank will also use a 1/2 in. x 96 in x 48 in polycarbonate sheet for viewing. On the side of the tank will be hidden, all of the filters, airpumps, ect. I will be using ame's blue for the internal sealing, with maybe a pond liner. I will also be posting my current room pictures, along with progress pictures. My goal is to complete this by May 1st, working on weekday nights and weekends. Hope to hear input from you all! Thanks.

Is a 1/2" sheet of polycarbonate going to be strong enough for 48" tall??

You are probably going to need 2" - 2 1/2" acrylic for that build. Good luck and have fun.
