hello people, need advice please, i'm a novice and a chick, could use some help please. I had a stand made for me for my 72Lx18Wx20H (100 gallon) tank, i finished it off with some levelling compound, sanded it and then painted it (i have pics of my progress if anyone is interested, i will post). I then put it in place in my lounge room. Before i filled the tank, i had double checked with a spirit level that it was level, but now after I had filled the tank, I have noticed that it differs from one end to the other of 5mm, is this ok? or will it cause my tank to bow and break. Its sitting on a foam base, and now I'm scared that it's too uneven. Will this be ok? I want everything to be perfect first time round. thanks in advance.

what sagged or settled?, either the stand or floor. Get your big level out and check the floor all the way around the tank. Check the stand every which way. My floor settles when I put water in, I have a floating floor, grr :( Mind you it's nothing some shimming and 3-4 people sitting on your stand can't fix if that's the problem.

If the stand settled or sagged, that could be a problem?

Oh and pics please!

Definitely check all sources of movement.

If the entire side is 5mm off, then you should be fine. I don't think there is a huge call for alarm. 5mm is not that much.

not sure which has settled, floor or stand, have hard wood floor that was installed by the dodgy brothers i'm sure ;) , i checked with the big level that all was right before it filled.

And yes its 5mm out on the right hand side.

Have the tank filled with water, and no busts yet, fingers crossed, has only been a few hours, but i'm anxious to get the thing running.

I will post pics as soon as i've loaded the software that comes with my phone. Darn technology, this old grey mare ain't what she used be, lol

five mills won't be an issue. My floor is out by 4 cm over a length of 2m and I have a 600l tank on this for the last 5 years

That amount is not a problem what so ever, and considering the size of the tank I wouldn't be worried.

I would however recheck the floor to see if the floor is sagging under the weight, gives you a good idea as to if your limited to the size of tank you can have in that location without some modification to the floor...or perhaps it's the stand... you'll have to check
