MY DOGGIE WON'T EAT!

My Pekingese won't eat out of his bowl. However when you put the food on the ground he will eat it like there is no tommorow ? same goes for his water. He's like scared of bowls and dishes.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why he prefers to eat of your hand or floor ???

Tried and no luck =-( ......... he likes to eat out of your hand or on the floor.....they are stubborn dogs as well so I'm afraid he might starve himself to death

my mom had the same prob with her rat terrier
try to get dishes as close to what the breeder had
if it eats out of you hand feed moving your hand closer to bowl
trail food to bowl

how log have you had him?..... it takes time for them to get used to their new enviorment......

Had him for over a year now....... what happened is I believe he picked up this habit from a neighbors dog. They have the same type of dog but the owner just stays home with time to baby the dog. He would pick up my dog so he his dog can play with mine. This all started since he's been going over. Now I have to reverse it =-(

This all just started a few months ago........

btw - tried the trail of food to the plate/bowl but when he get's close he runs away
