Okay so on friday i started to notice my 8inch dovii was swimming weird and laying on the bottom of the tank, he still eats and everything there is not sign of bloating he eats well and still has his aggression he swims out of his cave to chase off the 12inch buttakofri but he still swims weird i left for vacation on that friday so i couldnt do anything when i noticed it. When i got back today he was laying on the bottom and still swimming weird i put food in the tank and he came up to eat and was still aggressive but its like he struggles to stay swimming. I was thinking maybe its a swim bladder problem maybe a infection of some sort i was wondering if you guys could help ive had this happen with my female gt a few years ago and nothing i did helped her and she ended up dieing, i dont want to lose my dovii please help. here are the pics 2012-10-23 15.44.30.jpg2012-10-23 15.44.46.jpg2012-10-23 15.45.03.jpg

Anyone?

Looks to be a swim bladder issue. You can try and treat it with salt, but honestly I have never had a sure way of curing it. Sometimes it passes, sometimes not.

Aww this sucks ass hes like my prized fish im going to quarintine him and see if i can help him even tho he still rules the tank

We had a 10" JD that had the same issue. He ended up living in a 10g for almost 2 yrs before I finally put him down. GL sorry to hear this.

Do try and treat him though man by all means. I'm hoping he comes through it okay.

thanks how much salt do u think i should add? im starting to question my water tho. In one of my serperate tanks my smaller festae developed something like this a few months ago but he is getting better. Our water we get from town is really bad its almopst like pool water i try to let it sit before i add it and put this conditioner in it but it has arsenic in our water. It says it takes it out but idk
