..eventually...when i have space and money i would love a huge salt water tank with natives from Puget Sound....and the main peace of the tank would be this....

That would be sweet! Would you go for more of a bigger fish, rockfish, etc. Look or would you have a tidepool tank with shrimps, and littlerfishes?

that would depend on how much i had to spend..chillers for these are pricey ..though im sure i could figure out a DIY chiller..(already have a few in mind)

i probably would focus on one or two of these and, build or buy the appropriate size, and see what would work best with them,

my true love is sculpin.. i would/will base a tank around them as well

..so ratfish and sculpin..maybe as many together as can coexist ^_^ but some get huge here in the sound.

probably not, but for the rat tail and any of the larger sculpin then yah, they are deeper in the sound and its temperature is usually in the 40s..so maybe not for a small tidepool tank..witch might do,
my cold water 20 gallon tank is kept at about 60 with just a small fan.
so i could work that with out a chiller ^_^ but only things i found living in tide pools..even in tide pools the temp is pretty low... maybe high 50s in the summer?

yea i have room in my house that stays super cold and i had a tank that didnt get over 50 even in the summer had some feeder gold fish then.... cuz i was thinking about doing a tank with tidepool fish how many would work in something like 20 gallon tank?? not trying to steal ur thread but just kinda interested in a tidepool tank now...

h yes the ratfish!

i have a 400g that im thinking of doing native sw and putting it on my back covered deck.
you should!!!...if you have a chiller

that would be cutting it close..maybe with a fan on top on high all the time....but even so they need really cold water to be ok and high dissolved oxygen, and can get touchy with it...

those fish look awesome, but cold water in texas is a no go.
