I had a fun time and a BLAST discussing Plecos tonight! There are so many pleco species out there that this is going to be a multi part series! I discussed what I like about plecos, the plecos that I have kept, my favorite plecos and I discussed the first of many DREAM pleco species that I want to keep! Species that were discussed include common plecos, royal plecos, catcus plecos (L114, L24 AND L25), three beacon plecos, phantom plecos (L200, and L128). I also showed images of my previous plecos that I owned!
What are your favorite plecos? Your dream plecos? Post in the comments!

My favorites generally come from these three genus
Baryancistrus
Leporacanthicus
Pseudacanthicus
There are other species I like that aren’t under either of those genus’s. L014, L083/L165 and L191 to name a few more. In reality I enjoy keeping most plecos but some I am more inclined to purchase than others.

I love the B&W Hyans. I am currently keeping and breeding zebras, L236 (reg. and super white) and L173. In years past I have kept and bred L450, contradens, L173b and P. compta. I do not count the tank strains of BN I bred by the 100s many years ago as they are the rabbits of the pleco world. Until very recently my biggest tank was a75 and most fish were in the 20L to 40L range. So here I am on a monster fish site specializing in smaller plecos.

I would have loved to do some of the larger ones but I never had the tank space for them. My biggest tank now is a 150 and it houses my clown loaches which are my largest fish.

Sorry, I am not registered with Google and rarely use YouTube for fish related information. When I do it is often not in English. This is my idea of an informative fish vid.
