i just got a new motoro stingray couple days ago, when i got home i put it inside a small pond (actually it's a part from my pond's filter) with a cold water, and some dirt at the bottom, after 3 days i move it into my new aquarium, with a new water (being treated already with some med.), some plants and also some other fish (barramundi and polypterus) etc.. .,all of sudden my motoro just flipped back and dying, what should i do with it?, any suggestion?

i'm new in this blog. thanks..

my point is, what should i do now?
i want to put my motoro inside the aquarium, but i'm afraid she will die..
is there something wrong with the water PH or temprature or something?

Maybe the temperature change? Why would you put a tropical fish in cold water? Did you acclimate before adding to the tank? Why not add to the tank in the first place?

The only thing I can suggest is to hope for the best... and to stop putting tropical fish in cold water.

There is absolutely no way for us to know that unless you tell us the pH, temperature, etc.

ok, now in all seriousness, if the ray has started to die and is fin curling, there is really nothing you can do for it. but my first thoughts are that going from the pond to the tank caused a temperature shock for the ray.

if it is going to recover, it will just need time in the aquarium to become acclimated, removing it and putting it back in the pond wont do much good at this point. best of luck

sounds like to me you shocked it. Rays need warm water. They are not goldfish and do not do good in cold water. If you had it in a pond of cold water, then put it in a warm aquarium, you prob shocked it and its freaking out..
Post a pic of the ray, let us see what its doing...
Post water Nitrates, Nitrites, PH , etc....
What is your aquarium water temp?
What was the temp of the pond?
Did you slowly add tank water to him before putting him in the tank or did you just drop him in straight from the pond?

We are here to help, and will if we can get some more information.

Let us know and keep us posted

thats a big jump from 5c to 30c

Did you add tank water slowly or did you just drop him in the tank?

How is he acting now?

he didnt say 5 celcius. he said 28-28.5 >.> that shouldnt shock him. Im afraid the OP is a troll. If not, post pics.

ya, saw that.. but the comma threw me off. Figured the pond was 28-28 maybe..
but your rt. 28 to a 30 gal tank is not a shock..
