i've had this little guy for 10 weeks or so .i finally pulled out the camera and i think he is quite photogenic

nice ! i'm finding that they have great personality ! not too timid , yet not a bully ... well not yet at least ...

Yeah. EBJDs aren't as aggressive as the normal JDs. They're much more mild-mannered. Mine just cruises around and hangs out. He's one of the first to beg for food almost every day. Just very cool little fish.
They're slower growers than their JD counterparts. Just gotta be patient. As you can tell, they're beautiful and only grow on you more!
Nice looking little booger you got there. These are tough to grow, but if you get them to 3-4 inches it gets a lot easier to raise them. It's hard to say if the stronger more hardy ones make it to that size and beyond or not. I had 2 juveniles that didn't make it, then happened to go into a LFS that had 8-9 4" plus ones for sale so I of course got one. It was 35 bucks for him and I must say, it was 35 well spent.

I also had the same problem. Bought three out of the same batch. Two didn't make it for whatever reason (my parameters were fine, etc). The one guy I have now is definitely one of my fave fish, easily!

It was really about luck that me and my friends went in there when we did. I was going to get more juveniles and the one guy working showed me the bigger ones and I of course wish I'd bought 2 of them. I'll post pics of them if the OP doesn't mind.
