Thank you. So far he is doing nice about 2.5" so almost out of the danger zone. Keep my water prestine and every so often just run a cycle of pimafix and melafix. He eats like a champ and is getting less shy by the day.
Yeah, I bought 8 of them at 1 inch around 2 months ago and 3 of them just died for no reason like they are fine and eating fine in the morning...came back from work and 3 of them died lay on the floor, the rest are doing fine and the alpha one close to 3 inches the rest around 2~2.5 inches.
Sorry to hear about the random deaths. My first attempt only lasted 2 weeks. At that time I still had my turtles in the tank and one bit him on the back and he just could not recover. I quickly re homed the turtles and made a lot of changes. I have had this guy since September. So keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck with them. I had to remove fish from my tank because they was messing with him. Was a good thing though as I was overstocked.
