i have put my hand in many times.. and there is one little fish with him..his buddy so far... he was not doing well completely alone so 5 months ago we put the fish in to see if it would get him moving.. it worked perfectly.. he is all over the tank now looking for pellets..getting proper exercise.. and the little fish actually shares the hut with him...
