For such a large fish I was afraid that they might break the steams but they gentle just hang out within the plants.

Very nice! I cant plant my plants within the substrates as they get dug up during feeding time.

King-el. Love that combo! Glad it works for a lot of people. I would love to do something like it. But for me they always damage there mouth or body's in driftwood or rocks when startled.

I've never had that prob ... However they always damage the plants ... So that's out for me

I really have not had issues with uprooted plants, I have a base of fluorite under Pfs/blasting media. That said the swords are flattened by the big guys at times but always bounce back

If I had tank space I would follow your lead with a showpiece driftwood covered in anubias.

I might try and see what happens. Going to plant some crinum. This plants can grow up to 4 feet long. Already have some 2 feets ones in my shark minnow tank.
