well.
as you all know he attacked an ery ery a few days ago.
and it died.
and today, guess what i found in his mouth.
one of my CLs.:irked:
yup one of the smaller CLs.
the CL was dead by the time i got it out of his mouth.
but the bichir was not harmed by the spikes.
are endlis always this hungry?
hes usually the first to eat too.

Sorry to hear about your casualties. I don't know if Endli are normally this hungry but I know they can get pretty crazy and display maniac behaviors with eating other fishes. My endli was sizing up my newly bought bueti palmas and was looking at it too curious to the point of being dangerous. I did not take any chances and quickly move my endli to the bigger tank with the big bichirs.

Sounds to me like your under estimating the size of his mouth when you choose his tankmates IT'S NOT A KILLING SPREE ITS CALLED "it can fit in my mouth so its a meal"

GO WITH BIGGER TANKMATES

i completely agree with this guy

hehe.
nope.
it couldnt fit in his mouth.
just kept trying.
those CLs were unswallowable. :D
but he tried.
didnt succeed.
so i pulled it out of his mouth.
my endlis just always hungry.
it seems he digests his food too fast. :D

still sounds like the tank mates are too small... because it obviously did fit in its mouth, otherwise it would still be swimming around in your tank...hehe...

also prolly due to the fact that cl's are also bottom dwellers, and constantly swimming around where the endli hangs out... Having said that, my mate has a whole bunch of clown loaches in with his endlis and there is no problem, however, his endlis are about 30cm, with his cl's averaging around the 20+cm mark...

how big is your endli and the expired cl?

e.:D

as long as it can bite it. it can kill it. sounds like you need to feed more.

hehe.
i feed my fish 2 to 3 times a day.
that CL was about 2.5 to 3 inches.
my endlis about 5 to 6 inches.
he grabbed it by the side but was just swimming around with it in its jaws.
it was definitly too big to eat.

Yeah sounds like your endli was just too tempted by the clowns.

I keep my 12" endli fed on massivore and hikari gold and shrimp daily, but I still see her going after the poor lil midnight cat
