Took a few pictures of her last night when I got home. She was begging at the glass even though it was dark in the room. I have tried to get her into other tanks but she is too agressive for any of my other fish. I tried putting her in with slightly larger ebjd, other male and female dempsey, and then finally tried putting her in a tank that had a male convict twice her size. She ends up being dominant in every tank and the other fish suffer. So shes in a 29 right now. I may set up a 55 for just her because I cant stand to get rid of her. Awesome little fish.

I was unsure of the sex at first but Im pretty sure its a really nice looking female. Getting more blue on the bottom side of gills and face but the flash on the pictures kinda wiped it out. It has also showed alot of interest in a couple male fish but has always ended up just going back to being mean to EVERYTHING! I like the blue lips too.

Can you possibly get a close up of both gills and the under side?

Gill picture without flash, and the picture from the bottom of it with flash, possibly?

Sweet looking JD regardless of the sex though. It looks like its going to be a real bulky fish. My male is very slender and long in comparison.

You can sort of see the coloration of the gills and head / undermouth area in the pictures. The color on these areas is shiny, but not shiny reflective like the specs of color on the main body area. Wish I could find better words to use there lol. Also the color patches are growing and connecting together. Also note the absence of color specks on the top of the body. I was uncertain of sex at first due to her agressiveness and coloration but it has done the whole mating dance with both a male ebjd and a 6" regular male jack dempsey.
Im pretty sure its a female.

Look just under the lips in the first and last pictures. You can see the solid mass of green, blue, and gold coloration. I will try and get some more pics up tomorrow. I cant operate a camera right now.
