Hello everyone, figured I would post an update of one of my favorite fish "Tank". At the beginning of the year I wanted to try my hand in breeding for the first time, my brother had 2 breeding Striped Midas Cichlids. Unfortunately after their last breeding attempt there was a power outage and they both died, but he saved the fry. So before he got rid of them I took 10 of them and wanted to raise them to get a breeding pair. What I noticed quickly is that one of the males was over an inch bigger than the rest from the beginning, and was dominant, so I named him tank. This is a picture of him when I first got him at the beginning of the year:
After a month or 2 he killed off all the other males, then started to go after all the other females. But he seemed to like one female and sure enough he started breeding with her. This video was taken only 3 months after I got him, so you can see how fast he grew, it was insane that he grew that fast and started breeding that fast:

But he wasn't a good father, he bred 3 times with her, and each time he ate the eggs
He never really picked on her though, until one morning I woke up and she was dead 
So "Tank" officially had the tank to himself. Its amazing how big he got so fast, here are pics of him now, only around 9 and half months after I first got him. Not even a year old yet, sorry for the blurry pics, he won't let me come within 4 feet of his tank without chasing me, I really think he is insane:
