I did a test over the last few days on my new sump, before I put fish in the tank. I have a 100 gal stock tank with 50 liters of K1, and another 50 that was back ordered, waiting on delivery. I have it being agitated by 2 cheap 265 GPH pond pumps from Harbor Freight and multiple air stones. I seeded it with peeing in it twice a week and some flake food. I did a water change after about a couple months and stopped peeing in it, just flake food and dirty water from water changes in other tanks. I have been testing the water and the ammonia stays zero.
Saturday afternoon (It is Monday now) I dumped an unknown quantity of ammonia in. Maybe a cup? Yesterday I tested it and it was still 8+PPM. That's as high as my test kit reads. Today it was at zero. Amazing (to me) that it processed 8+PPM in under 24 hours. I can vouch for the ability of this stuff to process fish waste! I am going to dump some more ammonia in now and do a water change on it tomorrow night. Add fish Wednesday. The stock will be 20 silver dollars of 3 species, 4 Dats and a Flagtail. I might put my Giraffe cat in as well. Oh, and my upper jaw Polys that are a foot or less. My Lei and Tig are going in the tank that these guys are currently in.
