the main reason i bought my fahaka was the care it was under....
god it was sad http://www.**************.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif the LFS had him in a 30 breeder with another larger fahaka. (yikes!) we we're originally gonna buy the other fahaka, but he made an about-face and showed us the bite marks out of his head..eww. sube had been attacking the other fahaka non-stop for the tankspace. again, it was sad. i asked the lfs guy what the story was, and this is what he told me:
sube and the other bit up fahaka had been fighting for "dominance" for about a week... a freakin week! (this is two 6" fahakas in a 30B mind you!)
BUT BEFORE THAT....
he said there were 7.... freakin 7! of them in this 36x18" tank! i was DISGUSTED...the deal was sealed! i needed to get this beautiful fish away from these idiots, and at $25 for a 6" fahaka, it wasnt a hard sell. i would have bought the other guy, but tank space (or should i say "floor-space") is limited and im pretty sure he was a goner from stress anywayz....
sube had some ich for a few days after he came home...but that went away w/ proper housing, care, and feeding.
he has more personality than any other fish ive owned. he's a ham. he does crazy things to live crabs. for instance, he pulls off all the right legs, so they can only travel in a circle...
he also has amazing body language...if he recognizes you (or likes something you have on) his stripes turn bright-red with dark brown outlines and he swims up and down with fluttery fins. if he doesnt like you...oh boy. you either get the jet-black stripes, clamped fins, and the cold stare... or mottled yelowy green and spittin water. i love my attack
