I know it is small, but it is my first billfish. Did have a big Blue Marlin hooked up for about 3 seconds, once.

Very nice! How long it take for you to reel in the big boy?

:D
Not much of a fighter then huh! Did you keep it and eat it? Or released it?

Nice....sorry for so much questions, how long was it and how heavy was it? It really fascinate me, because I really want to go deep sea fishing.

Released.

We kept all the Yellowfin Tuna we caught though.
huh sounds like what iam doing this summer, did you launch from Delaware?

Maybe 6' tip to tip, 30 pounds maybe. I have no idea on the weight. It is a small fish. I have caught 80 pound Yellowfin and 120 pound Big Eye Tuna. During one trip we saw a Whale Shark, 20-25' long. On another trip we had a giant Manta Ray leap out of the wake of the boat. The ray was about 15' across. We almost always see Pilot Whales and one year a Hammerhead Shark migration was on, literally about 600 sharks. Never know what you will see 100 miles offshore, thats why I love going out.

We go out of Oregon Inlet on the Outer Banks, NC. I live in Maryland about 2 miles from the Chesapeake Bay and about 2 hours from the ocean (Ocean City, MD). We make the 6-7 hour drive to NC to go tuna fishing. It is the best place we have found.
