My FH is all of a sudden skittish

A couple days ago my FH started going berserk and ramming the sides (or whatever else) or hiding when ever I walked by the tank. Since I've had it it's always acted similar to my other cichlids by always being in your face and begging for food. I've not added any new fish or changed the tank at all.

Any ideas why the change?

How long has this been going on? He may be coming down with something. Have you had a cold lately? And has Nebraska started to freeze yet or no? When the groundwater gets cold as apposed to in the summer when it is quite warm and unpleasant to drink strait out of the tap, it contains more dissolved solids. Warm water does not have the ability to hold nearly as much dissolved solids as cold. You should test for dissolved solids. Other than that the simple answer is he could just be doing what he wants and not be hurt or sick at all....
