Ive had my FH a couple months and he has and still is very excited to get fed but lately it seems like he just spits the food back out then goes for another bite then spits that out also and so on. He is still active and healthy looking at only about 2.5 or 3 inches. ive read this could be parasites but i havent seen any white stringy poop. any suggestions welcome!!! Thanks alot.

How much do you feed this little guy and what do you feed him? Sometimes it happens like that even if they are not having any parasites problems going on. Flowerhorn knows how to get tired of eating the same food, and feeding to the point where they are always full w/ the same food will cause them to play with their food. Skip a day or two and feed him again...
Ive been feeding Spirulina20 flake food 2 times a day and only what he can eat in 30-45 seconds. was going to start feeding cichlid pellets when he gets a little bigger.
he should be able to eat hikari cichlid gold at this size..... the small pellets - you should see better growth also
Switch him over to pellets...he can get stubborn later on down the road if not introduce early. Then you'll have to starve him and etc. Even frys at first meal already start to eat crushed pellets...
