My FH loves eating flies.

While watching my new FH swimming around the tank a fly somehow crash landed into the top of the tank. To my shock the FH swam up to the top and ate him. He looked like he loved it so i swatted a fly and feed it to him. Now all he does is swim near the top looking for more flies....

Does anyone know if feeding flies will be bad for a FH's health?

i live in sydney and its been pretty hot lately so we can not escape the flies. Bad for us good for the FH

Naw, flies won't harm your FH as long as you don't spray them with Raid to catch em....In the summer time I swat flys for my FH too.....

that fly or any insect that finds it's way in your house (more specificly your fish/herp house) may have inadvertinly came across some sort of pesticide throughout the course of it's pesky life in which case the toxins may be leached into the confines of the aquarium/terrarium. Personally I wouldn't even want somthing foriegn in my tank. For example if my pet doesn't eat it and I pull it out any substance may again be leached

I wouldn't do it I spend too much time (as we all do) Caring for my fish not to mention the contents of only certain store bought foods are made up of ingridiants I deem fit for my fish I also spent a great deal of time making my own food bc if they cant do it then I will do it myself

We give our FH and Oscars crickets as treats.. they love it!

have the lid open and let your archer go loose. spit water everywhere to catch one of them

I feed my fish crickets as treats all of the time,just fed them some tonight, feed my Oscar beatles too, he loves em.
