my fire eel is all messed up.

he stopped eating this past week and is darting around the tank....ending up on the top corners by the surface (where there are things to lean on). all of my other fish are fine and eating normally. I just did a 30% water change and cleaned out my filters. had it for about 6 months. eating earthworms/scallops/shrimp. Looks "out of breath" but probably due to frantic behaviour.

What are your/were your water test resaults?
and how is his skin looking?

no ammonia and nitrate reading 2 ppm. eel seems to have white blemishes on him. definitely not ich...

hes just finding someway to rest right below the surface this sucks

hes probably going to die. just hanging out on a plant right below surface. white blemishes are bigger. looking out of breath still =\

Sounds like bacterial/fungal infection. 1/2 dos pimafix/melafix yes both. turn your lights off and leave them off. 1/2 dos again in 48 hours. Do not remove filters, do not change the water temperature.
