So after a long time, my boyfriend decided to get me another fire eel since the other one passed. And I believe this one is twice as big. I've already fell in love with her. We think its a female since her colorings are dull, but we still refer her, as him. We decided to call him Tank.

And sorry about the water spots, it was right after we put him in. And he gave a pretty good fight.

Nice, mine is about the same size just never sits still long enough for a shot like that.

Sorry for the late reply I'm kinda new. (well, kinda new, I just never have anything to post about) And I didn't see a notification I realized I didn't subscribe to the thread to receive one. or something. And thanks, that is right when we put him in. And probably use getting used to the new water. And yours must be super active! Do you think he is just looking around for a hiding spot? Because before we put the tube in he would try to hide under my stingray! lol. Mine just love staying in his PVC tube and he would slurp worms out of our hands when we feed him. He has some strength!

Awesome! How do you guys get them soo big? What are you guys feeding? I purchased mine at 4" and it's now about 8" and probably around 8 months old. I started off feeding it Ghost Shrimp then small pieces of shrimp. I used to feed blood worms occasionally but not anymore. But I am now just starting to put NLS pellets into the small pieces of shrimp so hopefully that will increase the growth rate. I usually hand feed it about a whole shrimp every three days. It won't eat unless its from my hand and doesn't always come out for food.

Mine is 12", I haven't had him long and I'm still trying to find his favorite food. My smaller fire eel (gave to a friend) LOVED ghost shrimp and sinking shrimp pellets.
