coming on Friday! I can't wait! I would like to ask a few questions of advice for them to have the best chance to make it. I have a 300G with pbass , tsn/rtc hybrid, and a vulture cat. I want them to go in there, but not sure if they should start off there. That tank has well established water in it, and all the fish I listed seem to get along without any fiesty altercations between any of them. I also have a 75 gallon tank I just started, but I used old media, and about 50% water from the big tank & 50% new water to start it. PH was low, but I am bringing it up. Otherwise, all other parameters seem good. Will the 75 be best for them to d-stress and settle in before trying to go into the big tank, or should they just go into the bigger tank from the start?

With rays or any fish for that matter, the bigger the tank the better. What I'd really be worried about is the current tankmates stressing out the newcomers. Sometimes big fish with established territories aren't happy about extra roommates. Personally I think you should keep them alone in the 75g for around a month before you consider introducing them into the bigger tank to d-stress and bulk them up abit.

What kind of rays are they? What is the substrate in each tank? Rays aren't compatible with tsns or vulture cats so they can't be housed together... You also need to make sure each tank can handle the extreme bio load rays bring with them. Also make sure all heaters are covered and away from the rays as they easily burn themselves... Also you need to make sure the rays are eating well so whichever tank it is easiest to do that in that has to be taken into consideration.

Blasting sand in the big tank, play sand in the 75 Gallon. I want to do my best to keep their stress down, & make sure they acclimate well, so the 75 Gallon... I have a 72x38x30 tank coming next week, so they can go in that once it's ready, and hopefully will do fine in the 75 til then. I was affraid the catfish would be a problem... I have a marble goby in that tank too.

The goby would cause problems as well...

Not sure if blasting sand or play sand are suitable substrates for rays. Both types tend to be quite abrasive and may damage their undersides. River sand is a far better option for rays.

So I think the best plan is to let the rays take the new tank & leave that group in the 300 alone. Then I can add some of my pbass grow outs in a few months that are too small right now. Will that 75's water be fine for them considering I just got the tank, but started it with established water from the other tanks?

As long as your ph is ok and it has a lot of filtration yes. Also keep up with your water changes as it isn't hard to get an ammonia spike in such a small tank...
