I've had these guys for a couple of weeks now but never took any pictures since the tank they were in has horrible scratches all over it's front. I finally re-sealed my other 55(scratch free-ish!) and moved them all into it yesterday. They are adjusting well and my male sulfur head was even posing for the camera haha. The stock includes a trio of aulonocara maylandi, three Steatocranus tinanti and a group(2m4f) of Placidochromis "Phenochilus Tanzania". They are currently growing out in a 55 gallon but will be upgraded as needed. Anyway enjoy the pictures and since this is my first African tank please feel free to give me any advice/opinions you feel necessary. Thanks!

p.s. Some of these pictures were taken during feeding time.

Thanks! Today my boys and I went rock hunting. We found quite a few nice ones! Gotta get them washed up and ready for the tank. Once they are in I'll take some more pictures. I'd like to leave an open sandy area for the Phenos because in the wild they live in open water following large fish around eating their leftovers. I'm thinking the right(looking at the tank) side will have a large rock pile that tapers off then an open area. What do you think?

That's pretty much how my African tank is set up. I have 4 Taiwan reefs, a sunshine peacock male, male strawberry peacock, and a little 4" albino bichir. The biggest overall fish in there is the largest Taiwan reef at 3.5", they are just starting to color up.

I didn't stack my rocks though, no egg crate on the bottom to minimize the impact should they fall.

that's exactly how my rock work is currently set up lol. it's nice. i change it up when i do a big water change just so they re-establish territories and whatnot. sometimes i'll have one giant dome in the center of the tank or i'll do a pile on each end with the center open for swimming. so many different ways to aquascape it's almost like having a new tank lol
