As stated in the title this is my first African tank setup.

The tank is a 150 gallon with duel overflow into a 50 gallon sump. 300 watt heater in the sump.

I would like to get some more rock in there, but am having a hard time with the balance for the second level. (I must brag a little. I got the rock for $.03 a pound. I thought that was a pretty good deal.)

Yes, there are about 10 Giant Danios in there. I can't catch the dang things.

What do you think? What should I change? What advise do you have for me?

It looks good so far but I would definitely recommend more rock. You don't have to stack high so much as make many spots where the line of sight is broken. If you wanted to stack higher instead of having the stones on the narrow section "side ways" maybe would make more sense, stack them flat and high that way. It will get higher and be more stable. What are you keeping in there? Also best bet to catch those danios is lower the water level a lot it'll help with the quick fish or use a piece of eggcrate to push them to a smaller section of the tank where you can net them out.

That looks awesome! I love the sandstone on the pfs!

looks good want waaaaay more rock though! especially if you are having mbuna its fine for just haps though.

Well it's been a couple months now. I have learned a lot. Still have infinitely more to learn. I changed out the sand stone for lace rock. Looks better, fish are happier. I think you guys will like it better, just as I do.
