My first Arowana!

Hey folks. In preparation for a new tank in the summer, I started buying some fish to stock it... Bought my first arowana, it's about 7 inches now :woot: (sorry for bad picture, he moves a lot :) )

Thanks! LFS said they never fed him feeders, so I was happy about that. They said they fed a cricket in the morning, and dried shrimp in the afternoon. I tried a cricket this afternoon and he seemed curious but not hungry. The other fish discovered the cricket and off it went...so we'll see tomorrow if he eats better.

When do you guys think I should try floating pellets? Should I wait a few weeks before?

My aro took to floating pelets within 2 days it all depends on how the are placed in to your tank if they are in some state of shock you may find it will take them longer to settle and eat . But if you have a smooth transaction then the fish could be eating within the day !
 
Nice pickup. It's already 7", you can feed him shrimp. My 6" love shrimp, w/ shell on it. My aro would eat till he can't fit any food anymore.
