Please give me feed back about this image, I recently got my first DSLR on 01/18/12.

One lesson I learned was do not gravel vaccum before pictures :D Sorry for the particulates, but aside from that, what can be improved? thank you.

can you add the Exif to the image that will help to tell you what can be done,

anyways here are the things that i would try to correct
- there is some amount of softness of the subjects in the pic
- there is no point of focus in ur pic, i mean something that standsout and captivates the audience.
- the cropping is too tight.

the above is just my opinion, i could very well be wrong.
although its a niiice pic

Thank you Jibran, i do see the softness.

How do i get the exif data? I checked properties on the pic, none of the data was filled in.

Settings are as = 1/2 sec,ISO 100,f/22. (Once you go to properties Serg, click on the details tab and scroll down a bit until you get the relevant info;))

As stated in the other thread "I would be bumping up the shutter speed too minimum 1/200th to eliminate blur from movement, ISO is fine and adjust the aperture(f stop) to suit. Will probably be somewhere around f/11 - f/16 depending on your light output from your flash setup. I never use ettl functions on flashes when shooting fish, only manual mode so I can set the flash output to full. Other than that, your off to a good start and should have this nailed in no time"

Okay I see it now, I wasn't looking at the original file oops, i'm such a noob :D

I will try the settings you recommended hopefully tomorrow if I get a chance after work.

I could not have said it any better.

The only difference: I rather love using manual mode on my speedlites all time, regardless of the type of shoot simply because I am terrified of automatic modes, but when shooting fish, I usually set the flash power to 1/4 for faster recycle times. I'm sure most of us had ran into the issue with recycle times and missed that shot. I just compensate with ISO, but never beyond 400 with my little XSi. Other than that Brenton covered everything. :)
