Whats going on Datnoid junkies. I had a chance to pick up a Northern Thailand Tiger Datnoid. He is perfect. This is my first Dat. My wife and I love him. We both decided to name him Stripes. Anyways, I am concerned because after the acclimation, all he does is hide. He is currently in a 20g breeder filled with guppies and 2 zebras but I do have a mansion for him after my first monster tank is stable. Should I be concerned? He is not eating. Just hides under the sponge filter. Three days have past and still skiddishly black with no color.

bomber.

Thank you I will try it.

It's a regular thing for datnoid to do. What are you trying to feed him? Don't be surprised if your guppies starts to disappear slowly. I would put a hiding place for it to make him feel secured. They like to hide especially when they are introduced to a new environment. Give it some time. If you are patient enough, it will pay off as soon as it gets comfortable with its new tank. Also try feeding it with live blackworms.

Good luck and welcome to the Datnoid world :).

Nice but don't be surprised if u come home and find him bellied up. Ntt's are notorius for unknown deaths that's why I'm so scared to get ntt's lol

Either than that good luck with him and watch ur dat addiction grow lol!!'

make sure the water conditions is good, with those smaller fishes, if its bigger, it should be no problem. i just got a Dat too maybe 1 or 2 days ago, and he's coming out slowly and the colors looks good already, plus also he is with lots of other fish much bigger. he'll come thru when he gets hungry too.

Here is my NTT. He loves ghost shrimp, and guppies. So far he does not want to eat live black worms atm.

I notice that he is extremely active when the lights are off hunting style. When the lights are on, he is usually hiding.

That's not too bad. Semi stable. Dats do like to hide alot, so get used to it.

If u don't stop feeding live, it will be hard to convert
him to frozen and dry foods later.

like ade said he is semi-stable. my dats hide all the time. they only come out to eat and thats about it. and the guppies in your tank might get eatin lol
