My First Delhezis

I stopped by the LFS today to pick up a reef test kit and crickets. I ended up leaving with these two guys also :grinno: ...

I'vw wanted a Delhezi for a couple years now but its just never been the right time. Now that the 180g is set-up and I have suitable housing for them I couldn't resist. I just have to fatten them up and grow them out so they can hold their own with the Endli and Odoe pike.

Very nice! Make sure you quarantine them. I find that WC Delhezi usually carries worms.

As Benzjamin13 said make sure you quarantine and medicate them.

It is OK to assume ALL WC Bichirs will come with "Bichir worm" (and internal worms is also likely).
Easy to eradicate using most "all in one" meds like Jungle Parasite clear, or Hikari Prazi pro.
 
thanks everyone! I am planning on giving them a prophylactic treatment with Parasite clear like I did with my endli, but they were so skinny I wanted to get them in the tank and eating for a couple days before putting them through that stress. P. delhezi is now the 3rd species I've kept (w/ P. senegalus & P. endlicheri) and eventually I want them all :D Bichirs are what turned an interest in fish into a total obsession for me. I'll try to get some more pics once they've fattened up a bit.

They both are really nice, especially the one with wide stripes, that's my favorite kind of delhezi pattern :D

I'll be looking for the update.
