My first discus

I came home the other night to find this little guy swimming around in my 30 gallon.

I had my girlfriend pick up some brine shrimp on her way home from work and she saw this little guy sitting next to the return filter all skittish and sad. The discus had been at the LFS for a month and a half. He now lives in my 30 gallon tank and lives with his adopted parents a mated pair of angel fish. We are getting a bigger tank, more discus and plants this summer.

he is pretty but watch discus like to be in groups and a mated pair of angles will beat the living hell outta him when mating

the male is dying. he had the crap kicked out of him a few months ago by another angel that I was trying to save. we do plan on getting more discus and both angels are treating the discus like its one of there babies if a cory swims by the discus both angels go into parent mode and protect the little one.

Make sure you give him lots of warm, soft water.

Very pretty discus. Make sure that the water parameters are ALWAYS perfect. you are really going to enjoy getting a whole school of them, especially if they're all different colors, it looks amazing!

I've always kept that tanks parameters perfect because I thought it would be good for the baby angelfish. I cant wait to have a whole school of them! we are getting a 75 gallon soon for them and I plan on planting it too!
