Hey guys, decided to re-do my 75g tank and have only a single occupant lol.
It was a between a Jardini and a FH.
Was really undecided until I seen this little guy looking at me and following my every move.
He was more active, had a bigger of a hump than the others and his colour and patten were just overall nicer than the rest, so I forgot about the jardini and picked this little booger. He's a little under 2".

Just wondering, how big do these balloon FH's grow? Also, what do you guys think about him? It's my first FH, so I just go with what I've researched and read.

Thanks! lol yea it does look like lipstick. I've check youtube and all over the net, not much on max size of short bodies, just that its about half of a regular FH. Another question, short bodies, balloons and bonsai are pretty much the same thing with different names?

Nice short body! Where did you pick him up?

Thanks, I picked him up from Steve at Dragon Aquarium in Mississauga, Chinese plaza next to Big Als.
Good guys and very knowledgeable. There's a few left from the same parents and also some other bigger ones.
Check it out and let me know how it goes if your in the market for one.

Thanks again for the comments guys.
So after some more reading, I decided to make a drive to the lfs and pick up NLS Med Fish Formula 2mm sinking pellets and a package of frozen blood worms. The blood worms are for the occasional treat, but how often do you guys give your FH treats? And are they any good for him.

He's been in the tank for a few days now, very active at times but here and there would just to to his favorite corner where he dug up the gravel and just stay there until its feeding time or when hes bored. Should this be of concern or is it a natural behavior of FHs?

I've also started with the hex treatment found in RD.'s thread.

Sorry one more question. I'm not really sure on the ID of my FH, but am confused between bonsai and short body? Does anyone care to share some knowledge. Thanks again

Bonsai and shortbody are the same thing. I don't give any of my FH's treats. All they get is NLS.

Mine is not interested in treats just makes a mess, only really cares for pellets and algae wafers. I'm not currently in the market I picked one up just before Xmas from aqua pets in Scarborough. I just like to get an idea for which stores are carrying what. Great looking FH keep pics updated would love to see the progression. That hex treatment works really well.
