My first flowerhorn, opinions?

Hey Guys,


I picked up this beauty about 2 months ago when it was quarter sized and a dull gray color. Supposedly a bp/fh. Its doing very well with me and the colors have really started to explode.

What would this type of FH be called? Any ideas on sex? Size is around 3.5-4 inches.

Its a shortbody ZZ but its going to fade. So.. I would call it a shortbody fader.

Its a Thai Kamalau, looks female and is a Fader.

Thai Kamalau with heavy zz trait. But how did you understand is a fader, from cheeks and fin areas? (I am really asking that I dont know much about faders)

Most female generally have those dark spots on there dorsal fin.

You can tell its fading because the fins are dark and orange is starting to come out on the fish a little bit at a time. Eventually he will probably be 100% faded. Looks really nice for being shortbody and unique for a zz.
