I picked this guy up on the way home the other day, it's just a little under 2 inches. I liked the look of him and for $9 I figure it will be fun to watch him grow.
I don't know anything about the kinds of fh out their or their grades but hoping he has the potential to colour up nice.
I do have a couple question though, what if any food is the best to bring out the nice bright colour's I see in every ones fh's or will it just come down to luck? and at what size can you sex a fh and how?

potential might be there

just feed a variety of different stuff, frozen or FD foods as well. my usually routine is 3 days of a few types of pellets. then 1 day of frozen or freeze dried foods. then 1 day fast :) then 3 days of pellets again. ect...

if the genes are there, then the FH will become a great one :)

looks like a possible male to me, dunno yet give it a little time to get used to everything. then the colors should start to come in more.

i think 9$ is steep
though the fh might get better as it grows and they do grow pretty fast

I can't get any fh's around my area at all so $9 is good for me, especially since the green terror I got at the same time was $12, here on the east cost of canada every thing is pricey. And the only other way I would get a fh here would be import and pay crazy shipping costs so like I said $9 isn't that bad so I'll just keep my fingers crossed, and hope it turns out nice.

they really like hikari gold pellets! and grow real fast!

Looks like a zz
Feed a varied diet like what fishfreak said.
More pearls could still come.He is small.
There is potential there.:)

try getting some flowerhorn pellets that is specifically made for a flowerhorn.I gave it to my old flowerhorn last year he grew twice as fast and gave out the most stunning colorations.Nice KOK too. That was his usual staple and cichlid bio gold, sinking carnivorous pellets also and market shrimp.
