My first hybrid creation

Nothing special, barely a hybrid. They just ended up breeding in a miscelaneous tank.

male - bought as convict but he looks like convict X honduran red point to me

female - bought as parrot but looks more like a "jellybean convict" to me

fry - look like regular convicts to me, look like even better feeders

what would you qualify the female as and what should I do with these fry..?

Odd female, I would say its deffinatly has parrot blood with the mouth and low hanging belly but the really odd thing is the angle the tail is at. You may want to grow out a couple but I would keep her and offspring from breeding, that may be one of those traits that passes on that can ruin the fish. Every time I see deformities like that I think of the keyhole angelfish.

Camph....You are 100% correct in what you think you have....Jelly bean and suspect hrp...And like you said, the mix is barely a hybrid, and definitely will be some good feeders, compared to goldies...

Heh who said SB is parrot? There are parrot traits to this fish. If it had a pointed mouth and a normal looking belly then I would say different. This is a SB pink of mine and you can see this fish has a pointed mouth and normal looking lower body although I did notice the tail was skewed as well... humn

It is a SB fish, and you said it had BP in it...I was joking about the window...If you have had multiple SB cons, you should know, some of them look effed up a bit....There is no bp in that fish...Bp x Con looks ugly and washed out...Not pink ever.

Heh sorry I have been on the soap box about SB regarding parrot and zinc usage. Ya Ive got a tank full of convicts and yes your right about the outcome, got one with an upper lip. My concern with using too freaky of fish was not the keyhole angel but notched angel fish.

I don't know whats with the "parrots" I bought. I have 3 females and 1 male and they all look like this. Their lower streamers hangs over and touch the tail.
