the Office living in the now...
In the beginning, I ordered 4 so called Goliaths but turned out two were true and the other were Vittatus'.

Anyways, long story short. 1x ATF made it from the flight.

Godric was about 3 inches when I got him and now he is like 6"+ and getting fat. At the introduction of my community tank, I had close to 30 Giant Danio's. Largest Danio's being around close to 4 inches basically larger then Godric when I first acclimated my ATF in the tank. Two months later then now he is alot larger, even my wife can see the difference and I only have 4 Giant Danio's left:ROFL:. Mean to some but this was my original plan to have Danio's as treats for my monsters. Here is a vid of Godric.

I have never owned a live Goliath but have heard that some are skittish. Well my Vittatus is very tough and not scared like how Goliaths are described by some. This is the most bad ass Characin I have ever owned. Its like owning a barracuda on steriods. Eats just about anything.

Nice. I think if you owned both GATF and VATF, you would be happier with Vittatus. Swims way way way, did i mention way more???

I had a 14" Goliath and I think I only posted left side body shots as he didnt swim that much... real boring

Looks good and happy, Congrats

Hey West, Do yo think Godric would do well with another ATF or better with like 2-3 more? I dont have any idea if they are like other aggressive fish that needs the aggression to be spread apart.

Experience from ATF owners please.

I have a 4" goliath and recently added a 3" vittatus. Didn't work too well, goliath kept chasing vittatus and stressed him out. I have kept both vatf and gatf in the past just fine, they get along better if they're almost the same size

Thanks for sharing. I just found a great local source for ATF's near me and might make a purchase in the near future. Just did not want anything to happen to my precious Godric.

This is where every ATF has its own Character. I read someone say their small GATF was chasing their bigger VATF. I had a 5-6" VATF and a 7-8" GATF, VATF would punk the Goliath all day. Had to move him.

I had previous VATFs and they would chase each other all day... body scratches and torn fins all the time. The most I kept together was 3 so maybe there was not enough to lower the aggression

Id say all the shoal owners (5+ pcs) have had pretty good success with raising a school together.

I would only get more if you keep more than 5 pcs, otherwise my mini shoal experience has always been negative. Worked for a few weeks/months, thats it.

Went to a supplier and they only had 2 but they were puny. About 3 inches but thin and runt looking.

5 or more is the magic number :D.
