Hi all, Ive been looking for a pair of motoro for a while now and finally got them on the weekend:headbang2.Heres a few pics. The female DW 8'' and the male is 7''.After the first night I woke up to find the females tail after the barb to be white.Im thinking its one of its tankmates having a chew.Tankmates are 20'' Green aro, 20'' Giant Gourami, 20'' ID Shark, 3 x 4'' Red Parrots, 16'' Gold Clownknife, 3 x 14'' PBass and a 10'' Oreochromis Tanganicae, 12'' Flagtail and a 12'' Pleco. The tanks 8x2x2.Ive read that flagtails and plecs are'nt the best tankmates but they don't seem to bother the rays.Im thinking its the oreochromis as its become quite agro since I just got rid of a pair of Dovii who ruled the tank.I got rid of them in preparation for the rays and its put the oreo straight to the top of the ladder. The rays are starting to take a bit of food so Im hoping it will heal up pretty quickly.Anyone seen this before?? Thanks

All my rays are tail nippers...not a whole lot you can do:(

A longtime ray keeper once told me "If you want a perfect looking ray..only keep one!!) Now I get it-LOL

Good Luck!

looks to me to be a bacterial tail rot.
secondly, your substrate is not ray freindly. either sand or bare bottom.
