My first Planted tank!

im new to planted tanks so bare with me..this is my first attempt..i made a DIY Co2 injections system but decided not to use it last minute, because of how ugly it made the tank look. the diffuser also took up 1/4 of the tank... im using Seachem Flourish Excel instead of the Co2 injection.

tank size: 15 gallon - 24'' X 12'' X 12''

wood: Malaysian drift wood and cactus wood (u can see the cactus wood floating at the top near the light)

plants are as follows:

- java moss
- java fern
- Hygrophila Polysperma.
- Crypts

i still want Marsilea quadrifolia ( four leaf clover ) preferably the dwarf one.
the search continues.

substrate:
bottom layer - ADA Amazonia aquasoil ( black )
Top layer - Eco complete Amazonian ( dark red )

lighting: 6700K Coral life - 2 X 9 watt 9'' fluorescent compact strip

future tank inhabitants include:

2 Corydoras Blochi (C32)

1 Flash Pleco (L204) - Panaque sp.

6 guppies

10 cherry shrimp

im open to any comments and suggestions.

nice, how long do you plan on having the lights on daily? and how often will you dose the excel?

lighting is about 12 - 14 hour a day.

the excel says to dose 10 ml for every 20 gallons of water after major water changes. then after dose every day or every other day 10 ml/ 100 gallons.

i do 10 ml after w/cs and 2 ml everyday both are a little more then said on bottle. my tank is 15 gallons. it should be 1.5 ml a day but i think the .5 wont hurt, its easier to measure.

lighting period may be a little too long. if you start to see algae issues, cut back on the lighting. i was only running 7 hours on my 55g

WHAT! thread jacker?! im no jacker! i just wanted to share! you know, jelousy is a very bad thing LOL jk or

P.S. i leave my lights on 6-7 hours a day... 8 hours to the maximum(at rare occasions)

lol, i was talking to you, u should get a timer if you havent aleady. i dose excel 1 every other week. since ur tank is only 15g, u should get the ada co2 system.
