my first red devil

what you guys think of my first RD? hes a in a 60 gallon to him self with some pots, was thinking about filling up the pots with sand or gravel and let him dig it out

im still new to red devils and i was wondering if you can tell its a true rd? or a midas hybrid?

They do love to aquascape for themselves. With no tank mates in there I'd say give him some gravel to move around to keep it from dieing of boardum.

congrats man. ya i also say gravel. hed probably just swish his tail in the sand but he will pickup the gravel. if you bought him at just any lfs then most deff a mix. you need to buy from a reputable dealer to get pure.

thank you, yea i was thinking sand will be to small plus i have some old gravel laying around so ill probably add that soon

looks like he was chewed up a little while ago but looks good now give him clean water and a good diet and it will be a great fish i would add some sand or dark gravel dark colors bring out there reds also don't know if its a hybrid but i has some devil in it but looks like a nice red devil don't think its a hybrid but it can be hard to tell useually you have to wait till they mature

Yeah my RD juvi loves to aquascape, they are for the most part diggers. Besides giving them substrate to dig in, it may give them something else to mess with beside the heaters (getting the visi-therm brand is a plus) and filter intakes.
